Our Adoption Process

Here at White Whiskers, we know that each dog has their own story that landed them under our roof. Many of these dogs have faced challenges that make finding the right home even more crucial. Our adoption process is intentionally thorough and detailed because we believe in giving these wonderful dogs the stability and security they deserve. We want to ensure that when they are adopted, it’s their forever home—a place where they can live out the rest of their lives with love and care.

1. Inquire (using the form below)about the you are interested in and make an appointment to spend at least 1 hour with him/her.

2. Make a second appointment to visit him/her again for 1-2 hours. Before you arrive:

  • Please call your vet and give them permission to speak with us.
  • Bring 2-3 other references for us to contact.

3. Schedule a home visit

4. Schedule a third appointment to visit him/her again for 1-2 hours.

  •  If you have a pet(s) at home you must bring them for a meet & greet on our premises

5. Schedule an overnight.
  •  If the sleepover goes well, you get to keep him/her for the week.

6. After 1 week we will check in to make sure both you and the dog are adjusting well. If everything goes as planned, you now have a new family member!
  •  If there are ANY issues (1 week or 1 year later), the dog MUST be returned to us.
